Congratulations to the Abington Senior High Garden Club! The club's exhibits won the Blue Ribbon in the Window Sill Category and Honorable Mention in the Garden Exhibit Category at the 2017 Philadelphia Flower Show. A special congratulations to the Abington Senior High Life Skills students who painted all of the pots for the window sill exhibit as well as the hanging artwork.

Ghosts drop a heartbreaker in OT

The Abington Ghost chess team competed in the 2017 Pennsylvania State Chess Federation Scholastic Championship in Lancaster, Pennsylvania over the weekend. At this prestigious event, we won two of the five championships that we competed for. Sophomore, Carter Stephens, scored a perfect 5.0 in the U1000 section and was named co-champion of the division. Carter's performance, combined with Amin Mojarad, Tim Hetzel, and Noah Palmer won the u1000 team championship with a record of 16- 2-2. Sophomore Allyson DaSilva also received a medal of commendation for her performance. Our u1300 team of Chris Ginion, Hunter West, Tom Dowdy V, and Brian Ouzomgi placed second in a highly competitive division. Junior Chris Ginion placed 8th and Senior Hunter West placed 10th as individuals. The Ghosts will compete at Nationals in May. Go Ghosts

Please join the ASHS Community in congratulating the members of the Abington Senior High Garden Club. Club members spent two days last week working to put together two beautiful exhibits at the Philadelphia Flower Show. The club won first place in their windowsill exhibit and honorable mention in their garden exhibit amongst some very serious competition (the garden will be rejudged on Wednesday.) A special congratulations to Janice Jedlinski and her Life Skills students who painted all of the pots for the windowsill exhibit as well as the hanging artwork with Mr. Ferro's assistance. The judges were moved to tears after the Blue Ribbon was awarded to our exhibit and they were informed that the painting was done by Life Skills students. On Wednesday, March 15, 2017 Abington School District schools will open two hours late.

The PTO is sponsoring an 8th grade dance on Friday, March 24th in the gym. The theme is Pack your Bags and Join Us for A Night Around the World. Tickets are on sale this week in Commons B during all lunch periods. Tickets are $5. Please bring your student ID to purchase a ticket.
